1.A 'backoffice' membership (or season pass) renewal may be performed on the Household_Lookup mgt pg. AFTER a household account is selected on that page
2.The membership to be renewed may have been sold online or from POS
3.If the USER is on a POS and enters household_lookup via the POS, then the renewal will be a POS order and will take you directly to the membership type that you have selected on the POS station.
4.If the USER is backoffice (not POS), then this will be a make_purchase and will take you to the membership type that you have selected on the online webstore.
5.(note: if original is a eCon membership, it will still renew via mainstore memberships)
6.The new membership after the renewal will have a new member account number but will retain the same memberID as the orig
7.The customer account records auto updates to know the new memberID
8.In the MEMBERSHIP listing for the customer account, the renewal button and memberships dropdown are displayed if that membership is within 60 days ahead of its expiration date OR for 1 year after its expiration date
9. After selecting the specific membership product to which they want to use for the renewal and clicking on the 'Renewal' button:
- A make purchase is automatically performed
- The user is taken to the membership form page for that membership product in either the POS or online store
- Using the original membership information like the primary and secondary adult names, as well as children names the form is auto-populated with all the contact information.
- This new order is tied to the customer account, so both the membership and the order are listed for that customer account on the household_lookup page. The new order is tagged with the membership number that is retained across the old/new membership records.
11.Renewals differ from UPGRADES.
12. Upgrades are implicitly done mid-term and will need some type of cost adjustment or special upgrade to a membership product. However, during a renewal, they can upsell and select a higher value membership (or conversely a lower value membership)
12.The new membership created during the renewal will have an expiration date based on the new membership products terms.
13.For current memberships that have already expired, when they renew we use today's date for the start date to calculate the new expiration.
14. Either way, you can change the new expiration date in the member_details page.
